DESCRIPTION:It is felt that the compliance work for Charitable Trusts has increased over the last few years. Non compliance with the provisions of the Income Tax Act can lead to huge tax liabilities for Charitable Trusts. The Income Tax Act was amended by the Finance Bill 2020 making it mandatory for all the existing trusts to re-register for both 80G and 12A and has further provided that trusts will have to file a statement of donations received on the same lines as TDS returns.
